Niloo Souri
Pilates Instructor
Pilates Instructor
Niloo comes with an extensive background of 8 years of experience as a physiotherapist in Iran. Having moved to Vancouver in 2022, she is currently completing the last step of the Canadian physiotherapy registration process with BC college of physiotherapists.
Graduating in 2013 from one of the top-rated physiotherapy bachelor programs in Iran, AJUMS, she immediately grew fond of the vastness of the toolbox a physio could grow to assist clients in their healing processes. To further that knowledge, she moved to Tehran, completing a master’s program at USWR.
While completing the master’s, she started exploring the growing interest of the physiotherapy community in fascial release techniques, and the concept of interconnectedness (both within the body and between the body and outer conditions). That led to completing an advanced manual therapy certification, and a dry needling certification, furthering on to completing a personal training program.
She completed a personal training program so that she could advance their clinic’s collaboration with firefighters, assisting the city municipality with employees’ health programs in the process. It was that personal training, and the work experiences with injured firefighters that sparked her interest in becoming a Pilates Instructor in Vancouver while waiting to work as a physio again. She is currently a full-time Certified STOTT Pilates instructor in Mat, Reformer, Chair, Barrels, and Cadillac.
While working in the fitness industry for the past years in Vancouver, she has sought to find ways to address pain, injury producing movement patterns, or limiting beliefs about one’s physical capabilities. Striving to find ways to empower clients through movement, she seeks to inspire her clients to know that a painful body could still move within painfree ranges and be safe, that a painful body can become pain-free, could move free, could move fast, and could become stronger beyond what one might have come to feel due to years of chronic pain.
Niloo’s motto is: ”One step at a time, and you can conquer any summits! “
When not working, Niloo absolutely enjoys exploring the heavenly vancouver, its trekking routes, and beaches, and shorelines. When not outside, she enjoys dancing, doing Acroyoga, or the ever beloved Pilates.
