Women’s Health at Trimetrics Physiotherapy

Trimetrics Physiotherapy Clinic offers a unique suite of services in the specialized area of women’s health. This can be a difficult and sensitive aspect of health and Trimetrics therapists are committed to caring for you in a confidential respectful manner. We will inform you about all findings and will support your treatment with evidence-based education.

Conditions Treated:

  • Incontinence: leaking urine, gas or stool due to coughing, sneezing, changing position, running, jumping and/or a sense of urgency to get to the bathroom.
  • Problems emptying your bladder or bowel completely
  • Pelvic organ prolapse or pressure, heaviness or bulging in your vagina or rectum
  • Pelvic pain
  • Painful intercourse
  • Coccydynia or pain in the tailbone area
  • Constipation
  • Sacroiliac, Pubic Symphysis pain and dysfunction
  • Pre and Post-Natal Care including preparation for birth, Diastasis Rectus (separation of the abdominal muscles) and return to running or other exercises postpartum.
  • Osteoporosis

Initial Assessment and Treatment May Include:

  • Orthopedic examination of spine, pelvis, upper and lower body.
  • Real-Time Ultrasound Assessment: This is a test similar to what you would receive at the hospital but tailored for physiotherapy so the patient and therapist can see the abdominal muscles, bladder, and spine muscles. This allows us to see imbalances and look at how well the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles are functioning and instruct on the correct use of the pelvic floor and abdominal muscles.
  • Internal Assessment: this is a way of allowing the therapist to evaluate the tension and strength in the internal pelvic muscles. Comprehensive assessment for signs of pelvic organ prolapse.
  • Myofascial release: this is muscle work used to release and relax muscles that are too tight and causing pelvic floor pain or weakness.
  • Intramuscular Stimulation ( IMS ): a needling technique to release chronically tight external muscles around the lower back and hips.
  • Western Acupuncture: may be used to help reduce inflammation and pain, to lower stress and to relax the patient where needed.
  • Clinical Pilates Exercise. We offer unique one to one Pilates based spine stabilization and core training to ensure the sustainability of results.
  • Treadmill assessment for walking or running gait analysis

At Trimetrics Physiotherapy, we’re committed to helping you regain control of your pelvic health and improve your quality of life. With our expert pelvic health physiotherapy services, you can look forward to a brighter, more comfortable future.

The length of time it takes to reduce your symptoms of pain will depend on several factors, such as the severity of your condition, your overall health, and your commitment to achieving your goals.

In general, most patients begin to experience some relief after their first treatment session, but the length of time it takes to achieve optimal results will vary from person to person.

Our therapists will work closely with you to create a personalized treatment action plan that addresses your specific needs and goals. They’ll monitor your progress, provide advice on pain and adjust your plan as needed to ensure the best possible outcome.

We offer a wide range of services for chronic pain management. These include physiotherapy (physical therapy), manual therapy, pelvic health physiotherapy, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, kinesiology exercise with a personal trainer and manipulative physiotherapy.

We understand that living with chronic pain can be frustrating, but we are dedicated to helping you find relief and regain your mobility as soon as possible. Start your rehabilitation journey today!

At Trimetrics Physiotherapy, we understand the urgency of getting relief from pain and improving mobility. We strive to provide our patients with prompt and efficient service. We schedule new patient appointments as soon as possible, however, it could vary depending on the availability of our therapists, the urgency of your case, and the time of the year. We encourage patients to contact us as soon as they are ready to schedule an appointment so that we can accommodate them as soon as possible. Our team will do their best to ensure that you are seen as soon as possible and that your pain is managed as quickly as possible.

Yes, at Trimetrics Physiotherapy, we believe that physical activity is an important component of the recovery process. Our physiotherapists will provide you with a customized home exercise plan that is tailored to your daily activities and goals. These exercises are designed to complement the treatment you receive in the clinic and help you achieve optimal results.

They will help you to strengthen the affected areas, improve your flexibility, and promote proper healing. We believe that by incorporating an at-home comprehensive exercise program, our patients are able to achieve better results, faster recovery and reduce the risk of re-injury.

Our physiotherapists have extensive experience and will provide guidance and instruction on how to perform the exercises safely with proper movement as well as progressions as needed.

Research shows that clinical results improve when patients follow through on the exercises, and for this reason, we have a number of solutions where our trained team can guide your exercise prescription one-on-one in the physiotherapy clinic. We offer individualized exercise prescriptions and an exceptional level of care.

A previous injury can often be related to current pain. At Trimetrics Physiotherapy, we understand that pain is often the result of multiple factors, and a previous injury can play a significant role. Our physiotherapists will take a comprehensive approach to assessing your condition, taking into account your medical history, including previous injuries, and any other relevant factors.

They will work with you to identify the root cause of your pain and develop a personalized treatment action plan that addresses all contributing factors. This approach is effective in managing pain and preventing re-injury. Our team will also provide education and strategies to avoid recurrence of the symptoms and future injuries. Remember that pain is a symptom, not a diagnosis and it’s important to look at the underlying causes of the pain.
